ENRIQUE GOTERA " EL FABULOSO "

Nace este gigante de la gaita zuliana un 24 de Septiembre a finales de los años cuarenta en la parroquia Santa Lucia de Maracaibo. Cursó estudios primarios en los colegios Simón Bólivar y Sucre. Luego obtiene su título de Bachiller en el Liceo Uón Pérez de Maracaibo. Ingresa a La Universidad del Zulia donde estudia tres años en la Facultad de Derecho de esa casa de estudios, los cuales abandona por razones de fuerza mayor. Ha desempeñado labores en la Compañia Shell de Venezuela, Terminales Maracaibo y se ha desempeñado como Visitador Medico, Productor de Seguros y Públicista. Enrique Gotera Mendez se inicia en la gaita el año de 1965 con Los Compadres del Exito, imponiendo el tema de su autória " Los Patinadores " que lo dá a conocer en el ambito gaitero, convirtiendose en un exito  total que aún hoy se escucha en la época decembrina. Este valor de nuestra gaita se ha distinguido como compositor, cuatrista y cantante de gaitas y boleros Entre sus exitos se cuentan " Remodelación ", " Reflejos de mi Lago ", "China Chinita " entre muchos otros. Fué fundador del grupo gaitero Los Fabulosos e integró los conjuntos gaiteros Rincón Morales, La Montonera, Universidad de la Gaita, Tropicales del Exito, Profesionales de la Gaita, V.H.G y Estrellas del 2000. En su voz se han inmortalizado composiciones de Luis Ferrer, Renato Aguirre, Luis Oquendo Delgado, Victor Hugo Marquez y Heriberto Molina. Enrique Gotera se ha ganado un sitial de honor en la galeria de los gaiteros famosos del Zulia, por su manera prodigiosa de interpretar la gaita de su nativo lar.
